SÁBADO + MOVIE = MYSTERIOUS SKIN

La historia trata sobre la perturbadora experiencia que sufren dos muchachos en su infancia y de cómo les cambia la vida a los dos de maneras distintas. Uno de ellos sabe perfectamente lo que sucedió, el otro únicamente tiene recuerdos vagos que no puede aclarar con certeza.
Es una película muy triste, perturbadora pero artísticamente bella.
Muchos dicen que Joseph Gordon-Levitt actúa en éste film de una manera excepcional y yo estoy de acuerdo.
Una gran película de verdad.

The story is about a disturbing experience in which two boys are involved at a young age and how their life change in different ways for each other. One of them perfectly knows what happened and the other only has vague memories with no clear answers.
This movie is very sad, disturbing but artistically beautiful.
Lots of people say that Joseph Gordon-Levitt performance is superb and I agree with that.
A truly amazing movie indeed.

BLU IN GUATEMALA

Resulta que en el 2008 compré un libro bellísimo llamado Street Sketch Book por Tristan Manco, éste libro es una recopilación de los bosquejos en crudo relizados por los mejores artistas del graffiti y la ilustración de hoy día en el mundo como por ejemplo algunos: Turbo, Elph, Banksy, Will Barras, Iemza (este tipo haces cosas bárbaras) y Blu (nuestro personaje de hoy).
Blu es un pez muy gordo en el mundo del graffiti y yo diría que está casi al nivel de Banksy sólo que diferentes estilos y visiones ambos.
Originario de Bolonia, el hombre es conocido por crear gigantescos murales y excepcionales animaciones. Entre la corta pero increíble serie que plasmó en el Street Sketch Book sobresalen los bosquejos que realizó en su viaje a Guatemala (nuestro querido país) y quedé asombrado de cómo ejecutó sus ilustraciones y su punto de vista dándole un giro inesperado a la manera de cómo nosotros como locales vemos nuestro alrededor.
Ojalá les guste y observen con atención los detalles de cada uno de los bosquejos que Blu realizó.

Happens that I bought this beautiful book in 2008 called Street Sketch Book by Tristan Manco, this book is a compilation of sketches and roughs made by the best graffiti artists and illustration of today in the world, a few for example: Turbo, Elph, Banksy, Will Barras, Iemza (this man does amazing stuff) and Blu (our guy).
Blu is a really big cat in the graffiti world and I would say he is almost at the same level as Banksy, just that both of them have a different style and vision.
The Bologna born artist is known by his huge murals and exceptional animations. In his short but amazing set published in Street Sketch Book stand out the sketches he made during his visit to Guatemala (our beloved country) and I was shocked by the way he executed each of the illustrations and his unexpected perspective of the surroundings that many of the locals can’t really perceive.
I hope you enjoy and take a closer look to the details of each of the sketches made by Blu.

The Japan-based marriage Noto-Fusai exaggerates way too much in their T-shirts designs that I am tempted to buy half-dozen of them and not just that I wish I have a little kid just to buy him a T-shirt too.

Impactante película filmada en Nápoles, Italia. Trata el terrible problema global de nuestra era: el crimen organizado. Debo reconocer que en ciertas escenas me sentí muy identificado con la infame realidad que se vive en nuestros países latinoamericanos a causa de la corrupción que se ha desatado en la sociedad por parte de la mafia.

Shocking movie filmed in Naples, Italy. Brings the terrible global issue of our era: the organized crime. I must admit that in some scenes I felt identified with the infamous reality the we live in many latin american countries due to the corruption that is been unleashed in society by the mafia.

FRIDAY + MOVIE = 13 TZAMETI

Basada en hechos reales, 13 Tzameti es el debút de Géla Babluani como director en la cuál sorprende con un film de suspenso que engancha a la audiencia de inicio a fín. La historia trata de un muchacho inmigrante en Francia que trabaja haciendo reparaciones en una casa donde el dueño de ésta muere y el muchacho por accidente escucha una conversación secreta para luego robarse una carta con instrucciones desconocidas y es allí donde se desata la emoción y la intriga de ésta trama. Una buena película para disfrutar éste fín de semana.

Based on true events, 13 Tzameti is the debut Géla Babluani as director in which he surprises with a suspense film that engages the audience from beginning to end. The story is about a young man who happens to be an immigrant in France where he does repairing jobs to a house where its owner dies and the guy happens to overhear a secret conversation to then steal a mysterious letter containing secret instructions from his boss and is there where the excitement and intrigue begins. A cool movie to watch this weekend.

The Royal Tenenbaums es una increíble obra por parte de Wes Anderson, llena de humor en los diálogos, sarcasmo y drama. En si un script buenísmo.

Ah! y cómo no mencionarlo! Podrán apreciar en este clip el sound track por parte del genio de la música indie Elliott Smith y su genial canción Needle In The Hay, ya con esto dicho está de más decir que es un deleite para los oídos y la vista ver ésta película.

The Royal Tenenbaums is a masterpiece from Wes Anderson, full of dark humor, sarcasm and drama. Overall an awesome script.

Oh! and not to mention that you can apreciate in this clip the sound track is by the master of indie music Elliott Smith and his incredible song Needle in The Hay, needless to say that this movie is truly a treat to the ears and eyes.

HOLGA

El placer de darse un capricho vintage-fotográfico sólo puede ser complacido por la enigmática y aclamada cámara plástica Holga!
Ya hace dos años apróximadamente me animé a comprarme una y el amor por dicha camarita fue instantáneo, sus características son épicas realmente, de las que se puede mencionar: imágenes de medio formato, las viñetas en los bordes, las corridas de lúz en la imágen y en si el tono vintage de sus colores. Acá les dejo unas fotos que tomé hace meses, tengo planeado ordenar mas rollos por éstos días y así seguir con la diversión.

About two years ago I decided to bought one and the love for such a piece of beauty was instantaneous, its unique features are truly epic in which can be mentioned: medium format images, the so popular yet original film vignettes, light leaks on the image and the tones themselves that are so vintage. Here are some pics I took a couple months ago, I am ordering some more film some time this week so the fun can continue.

MORNING

Decidí salir a tomar unas cuantas fotos hoy por la mañana pero el clima está demasiado frío estos días que no es muy agradable estar afuera por mucho tiempo. No tengo mucha costumbre con la luz de la mañana y tuve dificultades para controlar la luz, asi que estas fueron las fotos que conseguí, claro que no son de lo mejor pero seguiré practicando.

I decided to take some pics in the morning hours today but weather is quite cold these days that is not so pleasent to be outside for too long. I'm not so used to morning light and I had some challenge controlling light, well this is what I got, not the best pics ever but I'll keep practicing.

LA FERIA

La feria rodante llegó y mis amigos me invitaron a dar una vuelta. Confieso que soy muy poco para las ferias creo que es más para los patojos (niños) jeje bueno o será que ya me estoy haciendo viejo mmm? y como prefiero jugar con mi cámara más que con un rifle para dispararle a las latas, acá fue una buena oportunidad para disparar unos cuantos balazos de vidrio por parte de un lente. :)

The fair is here and my buddies asked me to hang out there. I must confess that I am not really into fairs, I think they are more for kids hehe, well or is it maybe that I am just geting older mmm? since I prefer to play with my camera rather than shooting with a rifle to those piles of cans, so this was a good opportunity to snap some shots of glass from my lens. :)

RED OBSESSION

Amo el rojo pero únicamente como elemento decorativo-artistico, la verdad no tanto para vestir o usarlo como objeto (un carro, una bicicleta o una casa), sin embargo ésta extraña atracción hacia este color de proporciones inmensas en cuanto a actitud me ha llevado a dedicarle un post de fotografías que realize hace un tiempo. Espero les guste.

I love red but only as a decorative-artistic element, and not really as a color to wear or for objects I use (like cars, house, or a bike), however this weird attraction towards this color of immense proportion in attitude made me dedicate this post of pics I took some time ago. Hope you like it.
